Planning a Field Trip to the Nature ParkSituated on 55 acres of land along the Neuse River in Kinston, our park is ideal for field trips. We have a Nature Center, Planetarium, Health & Science Museum, fishing ponds, picnic tables, and plenty of room to run around and explore. Won't you join us for a day of exploration and fun! What Can We Do There?We offer field trip opportunities at our facility that include a Nature Center tour and a Planetarium show with time to explore our Science Museum. Our tours generally start at 9:30 AM and are over by noon. Starting and ending times may be adjusted based on the needs of your group and staff availability. Group size will be limited according to activities selected. Groups may use our covered picnic shelter or picnic tables at the playground for lunches. Students may enjoy the playground and fossil dig area after the tour. Souvenirs are sold at the Nature Center and Science Museum. The souvenirs range in price from $0.25 to $8.00. Drink machines are located at the Nature Center. Our basic field trip package starts at $2 per student (teachers and chaperones are free). This includes the Nature Center tour and Planetarium show.We offer rides on the "Big Daddy Express" train for an additional $1.00 per person. Science activities are also offered for an additional $1.00 per student (please call for current offerings).
